Full Moon In Aries October 5th, 2017: Sparks Fly!

The Full Moon at 12 degrees Aries on October 5th, 2017 (exact 1:40 PM CST) is a high voltage one. Full Moons always oppose the Sun, so we’re talking about working the Aries-Libra axis here: “I” versus “We”, balanced consideration versus fired up decisive action. Both Aries and Libra are cardinal signs, initiative, pushy, bossy. Both the Sun in Libra and the Full Moon in Aries square Pluto at 16 degrees Capricorn, another cardinal sign; thus forming a configuration known as a cardinal T-square.

Cardinal T-squares create Continue reading “Full Moon In Aries October 5th, 2017: Sparks Fly!”

Full Moon In Pisces September 5th/6th, 2017: Out Of The Shadows

Full Moon Pisces September 5th 6th meaning

The Full Moon at 13 degrees Pisces of September 5th-6th (technically September 6th at 2:02 AM CST) is notable for being the first lunation to occur after the spectacular eclipse season of August, notably the New Moon Total Solar Eclipse of August 21st aka “The Great American Eclipse”. That eclipse took place at 28 degrees Leo; September 5th Mercury retrograde ends at 28 degrees Leo, “triggering” the eclipse at the same time we experience the first lunation since then. This looks to me like a lot of things hiding in the shadows recently will suddenly show their face.

Not that the things lurking in the background will be any easier to understand just because they are out in the open more. The Full Moon in Pisces would be potentially confusing and murky enough as is, but this Full Moon Continue reading “Full Moon In Pisces September 5th/6th, 2017: Out Of The Shadows”

Full Moon In Capricorn July 8th-9th, 2017: Unleashing The Hell Hounds

Sometimes you just look at a Full Moon and know why the word lunacy shares the same root word as lunation. The Full Moon at 17 degrees Capricorn of July 8th/9th (exact July 8th at 11:07 PM CST) is opening the gates of… somewhere dark, deep down below. The Full Moon is in fall in Capricorn, not feeling at home here anyway. The Sun at 17 Cancer will be widely conjunct fixed star Sirius (given how bright Sirius is, I’m generous with the orb here); the Full Moon will be tightly conjunct Pluto retrograde at 18 degrees Capricorn. Both Sun and Moon square Jupiter at 13 degrees Libra, forming a configuration known as a cardinal T-square. Layers and layers of energy and intensity. And you better believe it’s pissed off, rage filled energy with Mars included at 22 degrees Cancer, also in the sign of its fall and struggling to find healthy expression. Mars is conjunct fixed star Pollux, known for telling stories most would rather not hear (Julian Assange has Mercury conjunct Pollux, for example). Astro Space Weather: July 2017

The month of July is nothing if not exciting – even if not always exciting for the right reasons. An ongoing grand trine in the fire signs – Uranus in Aries, Mercury, Mars, Sun and North Node in Leo, Saturn in Sagittarius – provides enthusiasm and optimism in spades!

All the fire signs exhibit an innocent and almost childlike openness to adventure and new possibilities. Whatever crap life throws your way, the fire signs are sure it’s just an aberration and not really how life is supposed to be. There’s eternal faith that something better is in store somewhere. Coming off of literally years of brutal cycles in rapid succession, the grand fire trine this summer should do a lot to restore basic optimism that life is still ok, we’re still ok. The astrological fire emphasis coinciding with summer makes me think of the ways fire itself is used in summertime: campfires, bonfires, fireworks, grilling and barbecuing. The innocence of the season is as great a time as any to rekindle the flames of innocent joy.

This is most true in July during Cancer season, as Cancer is a water sign ruled by the Moon and associated with home, hearth, family, food, roots, heritage, national heritage and heartland. Never a better time to focus on the simple perennial joys of living, the small comforts. Cancer is also a sign that is aware of the darker depths but will go to great lengths to remain blissfully unaware of them – a major misstep at this point in time.

However, mixed in with this joie de vivre are strikingly different motifs of anger, passion, betrayal, and danger. Continue reading “Astro Space Weather: July 2017”
