Is Hurricane Harvey “America’s Next Natural Disaster”?

Hurricane Harvey weekend forecast prediction disaster The quick answer: yes, yes it is…

I have written before in various places on my site that I believed one of the consequences of the Great American Eclipse of August 21st would be a subsequent natural disaster on American soil. I also believed – and still do – that such a disaster would test the leadership qualities of elected American officials and politicians. (ETA: Remember how politicians handled Hurricane Katrina? How do you think current politicians would handle such a catastrophe?)

Welcome Hurricane Harvey, a category 3 (ETA: as of late Friday, a category 4!) hurricane currently in the Gulf Coast and expected to make landfall late Friday in Texas with potentially life threatening floods. From an astrological perspective, I’m concerned that there’s even worse destructive potential behind this hurricane than what we see and know now. Not just how rapidly it has gained strength and so soon after an incredibly potent total eclipse that seen its eclipse shadow fall across America, coast to coast. But, this weekend will have a Scorpio Moon.

New Moon Total Solar Eclipse In Leo August 21st, 2017 – History Is Made

Great American Eclipse Leo visibility meaning predictions horoscope astrology

There’s eclipses every year. Then there’s this one. The so-called “Great American Eclipse” New Moon Total Solar Eclipse at 28 degrees Leo of August 21st is a big enough event that in some minds it will be remembered in “before” and “after” reference points.

Astronomically, it’s called the “Great American Eclipse” for the full coast-to-coast visibility here in the U.S. (the New Moon will be exact at 1:30 PM Central Standard Time, but the eclipse will be visible around 1:09 PM CST). The shadow of the eclipse falling on U.S. soil, plus the impact the eclipse will have on the “birth” chart of America (aka the “Sibley” chart) promises history changing events from an astrological perspective.

I’ve written about how this eclipse ties into some of the biggest milestones in recent American history as well as Continue reading “New Moon Total Solar Eclipse In Leo August 21st, 2017 – History Is Made”

Astro Space Weather: July 2017

Astrology forecasts daily monthly predictions horoscopes July 2017

The month of July is nothing if not exciting – even if not always exciting for the right reasons. An ongoing grand trine in the fire signs – Uranus in Aries, Mercury, Mars, Sun and North Node in Leo, Saturn in Sagittarius – provides enthusiasm and optimism in spades!

All the fire signs exhibit an innocent and almost childlike openness to adventure and new possibilities. Whatever crap life throws your way, the fire signs are sure it’s just an aberration and not really how life is supposed to be. There’s eternal faith that something better is in store somewhere. Coming off of literally years of brutal cycles in rapid succession, the grand fire trine this summer should do a lot to restore basic optimism that life is still ok, we’re still ok. The astrological fire emphasis coinciding with summer makes me think of the ways fire itself is used in summertime: campfires, bonfires, fireworks, grilling and barbecuing. The innocence of the season is as great a time as any to rekindle the flames of innocent joy.

This is most true in July during Cancer season, as Cancer is a water sign ruled by the Moon and associated with home, hearth, family, food, roots, heritage, national heritage and heartland. Never a better time to focus on the simple perennial joys of living, the small comforts. Cancer is also a sign that is aware of the darker depths but will go to great lengths to remain blissfully unaware of them – a major misstep at this point in time.

However, mixed in with this joie de vivre are strikingly different motifs of anger, passion, betrayal, and danger. Continue reading “Astro Space Weather: July 2017”
