The Full Moon at 12 degrees Aries on October 5th, 2017 (exact 1:40 PM CST) is a high voltage one. Full Moons always oppose the Sun, so we’re talking about working the Aries-Libra axis here: “I” versus “We”, balanced consideration versus fired up decisive action. Both Aries and Libra are cardinal signs, initiative, pushy, bossy. Both the Sun in Libra and the Full Moon in Aries square Pluto at 16 degrees Capricorn, another cardinal sign; thus forming a configuration known as a cardinal T-square.
Cardinal T-squares create lots of tension and stress. Pluto represents power: how it’s used or misused or abused, who has it and who’s at the mercy of it. The Full Moon square Pluto will show a lot of imbalances (Libra) related to authority (Capricorn) and control (Pluto). The good news here is that, while definitely dark, potent and volatile, authority and power can be restored and reclaimed assertively and aggressively (Aries), if need be.
On the everyday level, this Full Moon is rash, dangerous and prone to violence. Use caution and discretion and prepare for others to be in fight-or-flight mode. Pluto stationed direct September 28th, conjunct the Moon in Capricorn; the Aries Full Moon acts like a valve to release a lot of raw Plutonic pressure into the atmosphere. Potentially very ugly and scary.
Aries is ruled by warrior planet Mars; shortly before the Full Moon is exact, Mars will perfect a conjunction to Venus at 19 degrees Virgo. Venus is weak in Virgo, so the conjunction shows the need for tact, diplomacy, decorum, and honoring of values might not be given proper dues.
The flip side (Libra) here is that a Mars-Venus conjunction is quite fun and sexy; harmony between masculine and feminine, yin and yang, passivity and aggression. While such balance is harder to come by, it’s pretty sweet for those who can find it.
It’s a great time to reconsider the balance of power in all relationships: personal, business, international even. Given that so few countries seem to be under adult supervision at the moment, expect the tension and lack of diplomacy to provoke power plays.
Those of you with planets or angles (ascendant, descendant, Midheaven and IC) in the 10-18 degree range of the cardinal signs – Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn – should expect to be tweaked under this Full Moon.
